Our Story

Our Story
  • Mowbray Partners was established in 2017 with the initial intention of providing exceptional wholly online training to police officers, police staff and volunteers who deserve quality training but would not otherwise receive it for a variety of reasons.

Early in our development we were asked by the National Police Chiefs' Council Firearms and Explosives Working Group to produce a training package for individuals working in police firearms licensing departments. Durham Constabulary were approached and agreed to partner with us as we were convinced it should be seen as being provided by policing, for policing. Over the subsequent years we are really proud that we have produced exceptional training courses for enquiry officers, administrators, decision makers, force control romm staff and our new probation officer course. 27 of the 43 police forces continue to benefit from these training packages.

We continued our relationship with policing following agreement to completely digitise the entire training directory of the police National Wildlife Crime Unit. We are passionate about conservation and so this was a natural move for us.

Our conversations in the conservation space identified that there was an opportunity for us to add real value to a number of membership organisations in the conservation space who could benefit from moving their classromm based delivery online, leaving them able to focus their resources on field based delivery whilst opening up their membership to a broader and more diverse group. We continue to find more and more organisations who are interested in this approach and were delighted to help them.

In addition to our online training delivery, we have been approached by police services outside of the UK, who recognise what UK policing do so well, to provide in-person and in-country training to their police officers, coastguard and military personnel. Since 2017 we have built an extensive offer using recognise experts. We were delighted to provide just that sort of service to The Barbados Police Service and The Barbados Defence Force in spring 2024 ahead of the Men's T20 Cricket World Cup.

We are so proud that in the last seven years we have been so successful in the support to UK policing, our conservation work and promoting the best of UK policing internationally. We are excited about the future and are working on some exceptional products which will build on the solid foundations we have already built. Watch this space for some incredible news coming in early 2025!
